Today I’m heading to Austin for small biz buying conference. The conference, Main Street Over Wall Street. Hosted by Codie Sanchez’s, the female Tik Tok version of Warren Buffett…a small business buying sage. The timing is perfect as I’m about to close on my first business deal. I look forward to learning from people who’ve been through multiple transitions and can share what really works (and what doesn’t).
Two things are top of mind for me right now:
Transition & Team Communication Change can be unsettling. Employees often fear what a new owner means for their jobs, routines, and culture. I want to learn how, when, and what to communicate during the first 30–90 days to make the transition as stable and positive as possible.
Bookkeeping, Accounting & Tax Advisory As I step into ownership, I know how critical it is to have clean books and smart financial guidance. I’m looking to understand how experienced operators think about choosing the right partner—what to look for, what’s worth paying for, and what kind of ROI to expect from great financial visibility.
